The Commodore 64 version also has a glitch which isn't present in the other versions where attacking a corpse will bring it back to life.Friday the 13th: The Game is a third-person horror, survival game where players take on the role of a teen counselor, or for the first time ever, Jason Voorhees. The Commodore 64 version has weaker graphics and sound, and the ZX Spectrum version has the worst graphics and no sound. The Amstrad CPC has the best graphics and sound. This title is available for three different computers. Occasionally Jason will show up and you have to fight him off. Most of your time is spent walking down paths and throwing rocks, knives, and other items at Jason. You play as 5 camp counselors out to protect your kids from Jason Voorhees.

Scattered around the playing area are ten weapons you can pick up and use. Jason always attacks the character with the highest panic rating. You play as different characters that all have different levels of strength, panic and sanity. Before Jason attacks, the player is warned so they can take action. The problem is that Jason is a normal player moving around the game until he attacks or is attacked. If they get bored or Jason enters they will leave. You have to find a safe sanctuary (you pick up the Sanctuary Cross and place it in a location to make it a sanctuary) where Jason cannot go and then persuade your friends to gather there.
